ST Reflection 2009 – Secondary 2NA/Exp
Term 1, Week 8 (23 Feb 09)

Getting to the heart of Total Defense (Home-Youthink pg B7)

Q1) In the last line, what did the writer mean by suggesting that “he may have found more porcupines than rats?”

Answer : He would find more brave people than more coward people .

Q2) What’s worth giving up your life for?

Answer : I feel that i am willingly to give up my life for any loved ones of mine. The loved ones of mine includes people who has done alot of me such as my parents who has brought me up since i was a infant, my siblings who would normally help me during crisis or perhaps even homework when i do not know how to solve them. I feel that since that are willingly to spend time of their short lifespan just to help me whether indirectly or directly, it is those small contributions that made me think i can even give my life up for them.

ST Reflection 2009 – Secondary 2NA / 2E
Term 1, Week 7 (16 Feb 09)
No Loitering After School (IN! pg 7)

Q1) Why Coral Secondary School forbids students to idle around near their school in their school uniform?

Answer : They want to show that they care for their students
. They do not want the students to wear their uniform doing some bad things outside where the public can see , where this will spoil the school reputation .

Q2) Do you agree with this rule? Explain your answer.

Answer : I do not agree with this rule. As we all know, teenagers tend to travel around more often with their friends to shop, drink, play or even for group work. I understand that the school doesn't want pupils to be involved in theft, fights or accidents, but they should not deprive them of their basic freedom such as going shopping after school. I feel that the school is being too selfish as the school only wants to protect their own reputation and image so that when their students get into trouble its not directly their problem.

ST Reflection 2009 – Secondary 2NA / 2E
Term 1, Week 6 (9 Feb 09)

Question 1
What was Jack Neo's vocation when he was serving the nation?

Answer : Jack was a quartermaster, who became a platoon commander at an infantry unit . Later , he was posted to the Singapore Armed Forces' Music and Drama Company.

Question 2
"Hard work lead to success"
To what extend do you agree with this statement ?

Answer : I agree to a large extend that hard work leads to success. Hard work is normally required for anything you do in life, its a basic need if you want to succeed in life. You can take a scientist Albert Einstein for an example, his inventions or theory did not come easy, he had to go through many calculations and many thinking . People who tend to do things in a different manner other than going through hard work is basically cheating their way through everything, even if they get great results, it might not give them the satisfied looks which would show on the people who has worked hard to achieve success

ST Reflection 2009 – Secondary 2NA / 2E
Term 1, Week 5 (2 Feb 09)

Golfers, youths in brawl on green (HOME, pg 1)
Q1) How did the teenagers trespass into Singapore Island Country Club?

Answer : They were walking in an area near Mac Ritche reservoir . They were drunk and lost , so they wander around and actually found themselves in Singapore Island Country Club .

Q2) Is underage drinking correct? Explain your answer.

Answer : In my opinion I feel that it is not correct . Firstly , it is against the law to drink when you are underage, although most teenagers drink when they are underage, i feel that parents should be more or less responsible to prevent them from drinking instead of encouraging them to drink. Drinking early would cause early damage to the kidney and other organs in the human body, whats more if teenagers are still young , their body would not be able to handle the beer or wine. Since drinking has many bad points, it is not encouraged to
